Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 2 cups fresh baby spinach, finely chopped
  • 1 cup sharp white cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 brioche or whole wheat buns

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, finely chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Gently mix the ingredients by hand until evenly distributed, taking care not to over-compress the ground chicken.
  • Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties approximately 1/2-inch thick.
  • Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  • Sear the patties for 6 to 7 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches a food-safe 165°F (74°C) as measured by a digital thermometer.
  • Optional: Toast the buns in the residual heat of the pan before assembling the burgers with preferred condiments.
