Equipment

  • Measuring spoons
  • Glass or bottle
  • Spoon or stirrer

Ingredients

  • 2 cups filtered water
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/8 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tbsp honey optional

Instructions

  • In a large glass, combine the sea salt and baking soda.
  • Add the lemon juice and stir until fully dissolved.
  • Pour in the filtered water and mix thoroughly.
  • Add honey if you want a sweeter taste.
  • Taste and adjust — the drink should be slightly salty but not overwhelming.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Shake well before drinking as natural ingredients may settle.

Notes

You can substitute lemon juice with lime juice for variety.
Use coconut water instead of plain water for added potassium.
For a shelf-stable version, try the DIY electrolyte powder mix.
Avoid leaving the drink unrefrigerated for more than 2 hours.
