Add the milk and mix by hand until all ingredients are just incorporated; avoid over-mixing to maintain a tender texture.
Transfer the mixture into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Bake for 40 minutes in the center of the oven.
Remove the pan and spread the marinara sauce evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74 degrees Celsius).
Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing to ensure the juices redistribute.
